"H" is for Heart

The challenge for the letter H is on over at Simon Says here. The month of February certainly has me thinking of hearts, so I created these 4x4 pages for a swap.
I used corrugated cardboard for the page, ripped some away, painted and stenciled with acrylic paints...like the pop of gold. Hand sketched the hearts, wrote "love" and colored them with water colors. Pink is not a color I usually go to, but in honor of Valentines Day, I did. I think it is good from time to time to work with a different color palette.
Stamped some script over the hearts, an old techñique that I am really liking right now. Layered a bit of punchinella behind the hearts, added some fun fibers, and here we go! I read a tweet today that one of the trends at PaperWorld in Europe is fibers.

I mentioned working out of my color palette, so to challenge myself, I've signed up for Wilna Furstenberg's Color Theory class over at Studio Calico. My friend Ashli Oliver, aka SoapHousemama, is also an instructor in the class. You can get the class details here, and I hope you'll join me in class in March!

We got about 18" of snow yesterday, sun is shining, it's cold out there, so it's a good day to keep crafting :)
