Inspired by a Song

Hello Monday, my friends! Are you ready for our newest challenge? This week we are Inspired By A Song at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
Whenever I am crafting with friends, and the song comes on, Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper, we all start singing and grooving along to the music, so I knew I wanted to use this one for the challenge. I just had to find the right image, and I think the dancing girlfriends are perfect!

I started in my Media Journal and added texture with texture paste and Simon Says Stamp stencils, then painted the page with Paper Artsy paints.

I also used the ring cluster with the resist spray, but by the end, it really is very subtle.

I sprayed on some Dylusions sprays in pink and purple, then,
next up - Infusions! I started with the Magenta and Blackcurrent...

...then added A Bit Jaded and Green Man once my first ones had dried.

Spritzed it all with Dylusions White Linen spray...

Then, once everything was completely dry, I added some white with a scribble stick and white pen.

A few strips of Beach Babe paper for some contrast to the background before adding my dancing babes.

I stamped the dancers with Simon's Black ink, and colored them with a water brush and Prima Watercolors. Next, I fussy cut them out and popped them up with foam tape, and doodled a bit more.

I decided to write "cause girls just wanna have fun" around the page with a black pen.

So, go ahead and dance like nobody is watching, cause after all...girls just wanna have fun!

I hope you are inspired by a song and will join us this week in our fun challenge! I'm looking forward to seeing how you interpret our challenge! One participant will be drawn for a $50 shopping voucher from our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp!

  10. Look at you with the Infusions and watercolor techniques! I love what you've done and had to laugh at that sentiment. Usually I just see the "dance like no one's watching," but I loved hearing the rest of the quote here! I am not a dancer, so that seems more realistic for me. I also really like the strips of patterned paper in the background. Great work, yet again!
