Tea Time!

Hello friends! It's a beautiful Monday and we have a brand new challenge for you at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - FOOD and DRINK.

It's been wonderful having the lovely and talented Christine Bedford at PearShapedCrafting with us this month! I've enjoyed your creativity, and look forward to more. Wish you the best Christine!

When I saw this week's challenge, I immediately thought of tea! Now, I am an everyday coffee drinker, but I love to go out for tea with friends - high tea, cream tea, chocolate tea, fancy hat tea, you name it and I'll be there! I even like dressing up a bit, and maybe even wearing a hat! There is something so lovely and relaxing about sipping tea, and eating little sandwiches, scones, and lots of little goodies. I think it makes me slow down and savor the moment.

TEA TIME

I die cut the cups in several different patterned papers and also thin cardboard to mount some of them on. I edged them with Gathered Twig ink.

I wanted to use the burlap page in my Media Journal for this challenge, and was thinking about a background for it, then thought why not stamp tea all over it. I varied how dark I made the word.

For some reason, I wanted to do a bit of sewing too, hmm. So I got out my needle and floss and stitched around the page.

Then, I went back and randomly added in trios of X's. (kind of like "love" xxx)

I stacked the cups, stenciled the cardstock with dots, and made "teabags" with twine and the plant tags from the Spring Market paper pack.

Added the Love banner, and called it done.

I think it's time to call some friends and go out for tea again!

I hope I've inspired you to join us this week in our Food and Drink challenge. Maybe barbecues are on your mind, or picnics, or a cabana cocktail...whatever it is, please share it with us! One person will be randomly drawn for a $50 shopping voucher from our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks for visiting!
Maura
