CHA Sneak Peek - Halloween a la Tim Holtz

One of the projects I am working on this summer is a Halloween "Daily", similar in idea to the December Daily class I had at Captured Moments. I have lots of fun papers and elements to make up the kits with, and will be starting my sample soon. It is a new challenge for me to work on Halloween.

I remember growing up in Topsfield, Massachusetts and going down our dead-end street on Halloween with my siblings. A special treat at one of our neighbor's houses was always hot cider and donuts. The adults dressed up and invited us in to the party. Hard to imagine that today, but it was so much fun. I still remember going home at the end of the night and trying to eat way too much candy than was possible. I think our Mom found a secret hiding place way above our heads, because it was doled out after that night.

When my sons were young, we would get overrun with trick or treaters at our apartment. Somehow, I talked them into getting into costume and handing out the goodies, rather than going out trick or treating themselves. Of course as they got older and their friends started talking, they did go out for the fun and frolics.

I don't have a lot of Halloween photos, so it will be interesting to see what I put together in the book. It will be a surprise for all of us!

Well, this post all started when I found these delightful Halloween images and masks from Tim Holtz that are coming out at this summer's CHA.

Keep your eyes open for these to add to your own Halloween projects!

  1. Maura,

I can't wait to see what you come up with for your Halloween Daily! I love that these papers have a more muted tone to them than the traditional black and orange. How fun to work with!
