If you love to read like I do, this card might just express your kind of magical day - a big stack of books and uninterrupted time to read them, LOL!

 

 I stamped my words and used the grid stencil and Aegean ink on the card background.

 

I stamped and colored my images, then fussy cut them out.

Animal Farm

This week the challenge is: FOUR LEGGED FRIENDS

ANIMAL FARM 

I thought I would share what inspired me to create this art journal page. One of the thoughts going through my head is the New York State Fair is going on right now. It makes me think of all the 4H kids bringing their farm animals to show. The second idea in my head is the story Animal Farm by George Orwell. Funny story....I am learning Braille and asked for a simple, easy peasy children's book to practice reading my braille. I was thinking along the lines of " see spot run" or Dr. Seuss. What did I get? Two enormous volumes of Animal Farm in Braille 0 I almost cried. Well, I have been using it to practice finger placement, and that's about as far as I have gotten. 

 

I began with stamping the farm animals, and most have four legs... then adding watercolor. 

I sketched a barn on watercolor paper...

Then added watercolor...

Meanwhile in the art journal, I did some ink smooshing for a background.

Then, I figured where th ebarn would go and added white splatter.

I decided to work in a bit of stamping in the background...

Then figuring where each animal would go. I wanted some to look like they were coming out of the windows, so they could all have a friendly chat.

This week the challenge is: FUN WITH ATC'S

Artist Trading Cards are so fun to make! You can create a little story ofr design in a very small space. I went with a simple design this week, as I've spent the last week visiting my eye specialists in NYC. I thought a girl theme appropriate after my sister visit last week too.  

 

I used a base card from 3 Quarter Design, added a swirly die cut, paper dolls and ephemera. I added white splatter, and in retrospect, I think I should have done the splatter before the girls, since they look like they've been painting up a storm.
