Romance

Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Light and Airy Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: ROMANCE, WEDDING AND'OR ANNIVERSARY

Well, I am not sure just what to call this...a card? an envelope book? an interactive card? Whatever it is, it will make a lovely gift of love for the recipient, whether it is for a wedding, anniversary, or just because. I had a lot of fun with it, that's for sure.

L'AMOUR

I began with two 5x7" envelopes and tucked one into the other. You just slide the triangle parts into the other envelope.

Then, I had fun cutting the Graphic 45 Mon Amour papers and figuring out placements. I edged the papers with Simon's Mocha ink and a small blending brush.

I covered everything, including the flap on the one side. I decided to make this my cover.

I fussy cut the flap and inner pieces by laying the envelope over the paper and marking it with a pencil.

I added some of the embellishment designs from the paper pack, and decided to stamp in some of the lovely Abstract Flowers from Tim Holtz.

Here, I also made a little pocket and added a pull out tag.

I saw this big open space and felt it needed a flower.

Feminine Mystique

Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  It's Up in The Air  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

It's been wonderful having Estelle Palumbo aka atouscrap with us this month! Thanks for sharing your awesome inspiration with us, Estelle!

This week the challenge is: FEMININE

Ah, the feminine mystique...

Graphic 45's Imagine paper is perfect to create a bit of feminine mystery. I began by fussy cutting a lot of the paper elements I wanted to use on my tag. Graphic 45 is one of my favorite papers to use in projects.

To create a bit more depth, I edged the floral pieces with Simon Says Stamp's new Pawsitively Saturated Terracotta ink, using a small blending brush.

The burlap flower I had in my stash was beige, so I added color by blending Simon's Cheeky ink and using a small blending brush.

I was inspired by the paper design and gears to add layers of metal cogs and gears to my tag. I also added some scattered Dazzling gems. Beacon's 3 in  1 glue works really well for heavier pieces.

I popped up multiple flowers over her head to create dimension.

Lots of dimension...

I was going to add ribbon to the top, but while digging through my stash, I came across this burlap flower and shell stick pin, so added those to the top instead. A gear and dazzling gem rounds it off.

Feminine and Steampunk all rolled into one...

Red, White and Blue

Hello Monday my friends! Welcome to our newest challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - RED, WHITE, AND BLUE.

This is Nikki Acton's final week with us as our guest designer, and it has been wonderful having you create with us, Nikki! I've really enjoyed your takes on the challenges.

CATCH OF THE DAY TRAVEL ALBUM

As soon as I saw this paper pack from Graphic 45 (Catch of the Day), I knew that was what I wanted to use for my project. I found an old kraft travel album (G45) in my stash to use.  I just chose which papers and images I wanted to use and placed them. I popped some up on the cover, and mounted some images on card stock, keeping this fairly simple.

The bands make it simple to insert the book sections. I also added in a bit of stamping in red and blue.

I added papers and stamping to each book section...

Here's a flip through of the inside...

With summer's beginning, and the possibility of travel, this will make a great travel album to take along, especially for a visit to the ocean. It is ready to fill with photos, journaling, sketching, ephemera and so much more.

Happy summer everyone! Come join us in our Red, White and Blue challenge, and you might be the winner of the $25 shopping voucher, or be spotlighted! Many thanks to our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp.

A great place to shop!
