Altered Cabinet Cards

Female cabinet card - this is where I began to alter this for an art swap.

I inked the background and stamped the design in archival ink.

Layering of papers, flowers, lace, etc. to create the design. Final step was to use Bronze mist all around the image. I named her "Glimmergirl".

Close up of some of the detail.

Male cabinet card I began with.

I inked the background and stamped the honeycomb design with archival ink.

Next, I stamped the eyeglass and raven image, and collaged some papers.

Added more embellishments - feathers, compass, rulers, gears, etc. This card I named "Birdman".

Close up detail of the male card.

Here are my two creations, side by side.  This is the first time I worked with the cabinet cards, but it was a  lot of fun to play with, so I am sure it will not be my last!
