A Sea Dragon goes to Creativation 2017!

Today, I want to share my Sea Dragon I made for Creativation 2017 for Buttons Galore and More! I can't tell you how exciting it is for me to be asked to create for Creativation!! WOW!!

I am going to run through how I did this mainly through photos, so there will be a lot of photos - maybe grab a cuppa to look through these :)

I started with a 12x14 canvas, and this will give you an idea of how I created my ocean background.

And here we are underwater looking upward towards the surface....

Next, I sketched out my sea dragon and cut it out of patterned paper and a solid purple.

Details are sketched and doodled in...

Time for adding the buttons from this wonderful mix, aren't those colors gorgeous?

Details of the buttons, beads and sequins used to add dimension to the dragon.

Painting details....

Thanks for stopping by, and please, if you have any questions, ask!
I had so much fun imagining and creating my canvas. Thank you Buttons Galore for asking me to do a project for Creativation 2017!

My all time favorite site for CHA videos is Paperclipping.

And this SITE has both videos and a Pinterest board with sneak peeks.
If you have any favorite links for the new products, be sure to leave us a comment.

Enjoy!

Oh, Snap! Isn't this paper going on your must have list? I know it's on mine! Love the retro designs and colors. And all those old cameras? Oh, snap!
Wouldn't this be the perfect stencil to go with it? It is a Crafter's Workshop by Ronda Palazzari.

Christmas in July - Sneak Peeks from CHA!

Well, Sheila has started me thinking about the December Daily, so when I was looking through the CHA Summer sneak peeks, I found these wonderful holiday papers that I think would be great for the DD.

The first one is Websters Botanical  Christmas. First of all, I love the Webster pages - they do such great design work, and it is always high quality.  A couple of my favorite pages here are the doors, and the red and cream graphics page.  I think this is a definite possibility!

Next is Prima's North Country.  This inspires me to think Adirondack Christmas!  I see a lot of elements here that would fit into celebrating Christmas right in my neck of the woods. Plus, Prima always has such cool embellishments. I like that this includes both traditional and non-traditional Christmas colors in the collection.  Hmmm....perhaps an Adirondack style December Daily?

The third one I found (here is the embellishment page) is Jenni Bowlin's Christmas Line.  She has such great graphics!  This one would give a much more traditional look to the December Daily.  I do like incorporating her embellishments into any one that I make.

So many choices....I think it may be a challenge to decide on the paper line to use this year!  Are any of you thinking of creating a December Daily?  What are you looking at using?  Let us know!

CHA Sneak Peek - Jillibean Soup

For all you card makers out there, here are some darling 6x6 paper packs from Jillibean Soup. Look at all of the different coordinated designs you get in the pack! These are some of their new products being showcased at CHA right now, which means...they will soon be available to us!

I think my favorite of these three is the "Spotted Owl Soup" - they are adorable, and I can think of some stamps and punches I have that would go with these designs. I can see some "boy" birthday cards coming out of this pack!

BUT, what I really like are the cute kraft file folders!  Make a mini album with them...add them to an album...make a mini file storing system...use them on scrapbook layouts....oh, the possibilities are endless!
