Winter Wonderland

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the winter wonderland is so delightful! Welcome to a new Monday challenge. I bet you are busy getting ready for the holidays. Maybe you have more cards to make, or gifts, decor, paper wrapping...whatever it is, share it with us, and may you each have a very Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, and Wonderful Winter Solstice!

This week I am sharing my tree cards with you, along with a little tutorial on making them.

I worked in several color ranges to keep it interesting for me and used up scraps of holiday papers.

Start by cutting double sided papers into circles in these dimensions.

Cut circle in half, this will make two trees.

Start folding the trees in the order shown, going back and forth.

I like to trim the bottom of the tree just a bit to even it out.

Lots of trees ready to go...

Background papers created with watercolor paper and watercolor powders.

Cut vellum to size and rip on the diagonal, then sew around the card.
I used washi tape for the tree trunk, doodled around the tree, and then sprinkled with gold to finish them off.

A bit of gold stenciling and some decorating on the envelopes using some of my Create Joy stamps. My postmistress commented on the envelopes and said how pretty they look - why not brighten the mail for those who deliver it?

A little glittered bauble for the top of the tree, and now it is time to start writing the notes, and getting them addressed.

Remember, this challenge will run for two weeks, so you have plenty of time to create and join us in the Winter Wonderland challenge. I am looking forward to seeing what you share!

Enjoy your holiday season!
