Hello Monday! Our challenge this week is to make Handmade Flowers to use on your project. I made my flowers with the Tim Holtz Tiny Tattered Florals. There was a bit of a learning curve, but with the help of the tool that is included and making a few, I got the hang of it.
I made a card with the flowers I created out of dictionary paper and some of the paper I made in a previous project.
First time, I laid all the die pieces onto a double sheet of the vintage paper and cut them. I learned that my patience factor is not very good working with the tiniest of the flowers, so in the end, I just focused on the bigger ones for this project.
I had previously printed some papers using my gelli plate, and pulled this bright sheet out to play with. The color variation works really well with the flowers.
I have just a few of the new Distress Oxides, but these two are perfect for the background. Look what happens when you spritz it with some water - love it!
I love the shape the flower makes when cut from the die, so I cut a few in the blue to add into the background, rather than leaves. I distressed the Chip Quote with Peacock Feathers, added in some bling from 28 Lilac Lane, and voila! My card with handmade flowers is done!
Details and views....
I am really happy with the colors I chose for my card, and making the flowers with some different types of papers. Now, it's time for you to make some flowers and create your project to share with us! I am looking forward to seeing what you make this week!
