Trio of Bookmarks

Hello Monday, my friends! Our new challenge for you this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is - A TRIO OF SOMETHING. We are showcasing Dyan Reavely products this week, and if you have some, we would love to see it!

Please join me in welcoming our April Guest Designer, Paula Roomer at PaNaRoo! You are going to love her mixed media work.

When I thought of three of something, I started by thinking of three of Dyan's bright colors - orange, yellow and pink. Then, since I have an upcoming meeting I am helping with that has a book theme, I thought I should make a trio of bookmarks!

I started with the "hot" colors on the gelli plate and used the brayer to blend the orange, yellow and pint a bit, then printed the background for the bookmark.

My pink was a bit lumpy, so I used a baby wipe and blended it out a bit more. Be sure to thoroughly dry this layer before moving on.

Now, it's time to add the cool colors using stencils. Dab a bit of paint onto the sponge and dab a lot off before you head to the stencil.

Here's how they look once I finished the stenciling, bright and cheerful and a bit chaotic.

Now, to bring out some of the design, I doodled around areas with the white pen. (be sure the paint is totally dry before doodling)  Next, I added some stamped images, and "painted" parts in with the Dylusions sprays and a tiny brush. I also decided to add a bit more with the fine black pen.

I inked the edges, punched a hole and tied on fibers and sari ribbons to finish them off.

I believe every good book deserves a bookmark!

I have a trio of bookmarks looking for a good book to reside in!

Now, are you ready to create a trio of something and join us this week? I hope you do!
