Hello Monday my friends, and a very happy Christmas Eve and Christmas to all of you who celebrate! Happy New Year!! We have a great theme for you for the next two weeks at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - PARTY TIME! So get out your dancing shoes, put on your party clothes and lets boogie!
I have really enjoyed having Ann from aksbarchitect Creates with us for this month journeying towards the end of the year with her wonderful creativity! You'll be missed Ann!
When I thought about this week's theme of Party Time, I thought of music and found this great Jazz set from Visible Image. Then, I saw the cute penguin from Hero Arts, and my mind went to the movie "Happy Feet." In my imagination, the penguins are having a party under the night sky of stars and galaxies, the jazz musicians are providing the music, and everyone's feet are starting to move.
I began with stencils and texture paste to get some dimension on my pages.
Here's my usual way to add paint to start blending across the page - just squirt a few blobs on!
I worked the paint in with my brush and pulled some down to the lower section. Then I added Infusions and misted them and let them drip. I went in with a baby wipe and dabbed a bit more.
Blues are purples are the main culprits this time.
Details after the infusions are added...
I blended a layer of the Antarctic paint across the bottom and let it dry. Then I went in with a number of stamps to build the background. Next, I stamped the penguin with white ink, let it dry and stamped it with black, then went in again with another penguin layer in white. Hero Arts has this cool idea with their layering stamps and gives you the pieces to build up color layers. I have to try it out again.
I wanted my jazz players to shine, so stamped them on gold paper.
I stamped some bubbles to make them look like they are coming out of the instruments and colored them with Scribble Sticks.
Oh Yeah! Look are that colorful night sky and the party going on!
Details...
I kind of like how the night sky creates an arc over the party.
Closeups of color and texture...I added more in with the Marabu relief paste and Scribble Sticks and Mica Spray and am really liking how it turned out the the Media Journal. (I used the raw watercolor paper)
Put on your Happy Feet and let's get this Party started!
I hope I've put you into a PARTY TIME mood for creating something special to share with us over the next two weeks! Maybe it's party favors for New Year's Eve, or party invitations...use your imagination, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you make!
