Time Glow

Welcome Steampunk friends! Our February challenge at Sandee and amelie's Steampunk Challenges is Anything Goes! Work in your steampunk, industrial, mixed media style and enter our challenge. What's better on a cold winter day/night than snuggling in and crafting?

Time Glow

...maybe a bit radioactive, maybe a bit glow in the dark...time is often measured by clocks that glow.

I had some papers from a paint pour this summer where I was trying out neon colors. I stamped over it with the Clock Collage from Stampendous to fill in the white areas.

Then, I painted those areas in with Quinacridone Gold.

Here's a glimpse back at my paint pour this summer, from the set up...

...to the papers I poured the excess onto. These are the papers I used for my ATCs.

Backgrounds are finished.

Now, it's time to prepare the chipboard. (Aren't these pulleys cool from Boozybear?)  I started with a Metallic Copper layer, then dabbed the other colors on top a few times until I was happy.

Now comes the fun part, building up some layers with the pulleys and metal clock pieces. I also added in tiny bits from old watches. On this one, I added a bit of an old watch strap too.  I chose time related words and phrases to each one.

I had to get a heart in there for Valentine's Day this month!

Ticking Heart

Watch Your Time

Time Pulley

Snark Time

These were a lot of fun to make! I hope you'll join us this month and create something that gives you joy.

Many thanks to our awesome sponsors who keep the cogs and gears turning at SASPC!

  2. Wow, what amazing makes! It looks like you had so much fun creating them too with the paint pouring and all those fabulous layers of embellishments - stunning 😁. I smiled at the colours too as they do look a bit radioactive ...lol 😉. Thanks for the inspiration and wishing you a happy weekend! J 😊 x
