Hello Monday my friends, so glad to have you back! Our challenge for you this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is RUST IT UP! Oh yes, one of my favorites! I do love my rust, colors, textures...well, not on my car, but it fits so well with steampunk, so off I went on a creative and rusty journey. Hope you will join me!
NAUTICAL RUST
In the background is an awesome Christmas gift from my son - it's a sun dial, compass, and can measure star angles...it seems like a nautical guide to me!
I started out by laying my ATC (Artist Trading Card) down on the Stamperia Mechanical Seaworld paper just where I wanted it, marked it with pencil and hand cut it. I love this paper!
Rust and blue look so good together, so I added a bit to each ATC.
I backed the ATC's with Paper Rose Grunge paper, and added some ink also.
Now for Seth Apter's LOVE RUST stamp!
I stamped just the RUST part of the stamp on this one, then embossed with Seth's Chunky Rust embossing powder from Emerald Creek. Next was finding the right embellies to add...from Luna Circle Pop-ems, to Tim Holtz gears, to cool junk I have on hand.
Of course, I had to add more rust!
Time for more rust with the Rusty Car Infusions.
BTW, if you get Simon's card kits, save those brown bags, they are great as a work surface for messy stuff, and collecting embossing powders to put back in the jar.
Adding embellishments and rust to the deep sea diver.

I have that same nautical instrument too (bought it for a pirates themed live role playing event), Maura, but sadly I don't have these amazing looking rusty-goodness projects... ;)
ReplyDeleteYou've done such a great job rusting and creating patina and rusty decay! Wow! Love it, my friend!
