In the Mood for Spring!

Hello Monday my friends! I hope this finds you well. We have a SPRING MOOD BOARD challenge for you this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. It is beautifully designed by Macarena on the design team. I love the mix of inspiring images she collected here.

This is Ann's last week with us, and I know I will miss her creations. I look forward to seeing your work on the web. It's been great having you with us, Ann!

The mood board elements I chose to focus on are the rainbow of colors of the eggs, and the crocuses. I used these as my inspiration to make a trio of cards. One thing I have started doing recently is sending out handmade cards to friends in the hopes of bringing them a bit of cheer. These will work perfectly for my mail project.

I love this Flora background stamp! I rubbed Prima pastels over the design in a rainbow of colors. Then, I lightly misted the stamp.

I was able to make three prints from this - the top is the first and most vibrant, the middle is second and has more of a watercolor look, and the lightest at the bottom is the third print. I find this technique works really well when I use watercolor paper, since it is more absorbent.

I'm using an older stamp set from Simon to do the same technique and stamp out some butterflies.

STRONGER TOGETHER

For this card, I cut out a full piece of the design to cover the card. I doodled some lines down the center, in-between the flowers, and stamped the words on lemon chiffon and popped it up.

MISS YOU

I cut one panel into small squares and created more of a mosaic background for this card. I doodled lines around the squares, and the green cardstock, as well as the butterfly. I stamped Miss You on one square.

DREAMING TOGETHER

For this card, I layered a sheet of yellow in the background and stamped on that. Next, a layer of the glitter cardstock, then my stamped piece. More doodling on the card and butterfly to add interest.

Somehow Simon Says Stamp came up with the perfect stamp set, STRONGER TOGETHER, for the March card kit. The words certainly resonate in these difficult times. I hope that can still find time for some crafting, as I always feel it brings me joy and keeps me sane, now more than ever.

Please Note:
As you may know, the  Simon Says Stamp Store is accepting new orders, but have longer shipping times for the moment due to the coronavirus. With this in mind we have made the difficult decision to suspend the $50 voucher for this challenge.

We know that many people are staying safe at home and we would love it if you would continue to enter the challenges and have fun! We are all in this together!

  4. Wonderful rainbow stamping, and so great that you were able to get several great cards out of your repeat stampings. The bold lettering in black works really well to give these a funky look. I particularly like the mosaic panels and all the doodled frames.
