Simon Says: Feminine/Mother's Day

Hello Monday my friends, and welcome to this week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - FEMININE/MOTHER'S DAY. Simon Says Stamp is the highlighted company this month. If you have Simon products, we would love to see them!

The wonderfully talented Simona Rebecchi of Ginny and the Sheep is joining us for the month of May as our Guest Designer! Please join me in welcoming her. 

I chose to focus on FEMININE in my mermaid card. I think I am wishing I was at the beach on a warm sunny day, lol.

BEAUTY COMES FROM WITHIN

I truly believe it is our inner beauty and spirit that shines forth, no matter our outward appearance, and this is a quality I value. Femininity comes from within us, not the makeup we apply, the way our hair is cut, the clothes we wear, or how society tells us we "should" be. Let your true spirit shine!

I started the card by stamping the waves several times, using Simon's Audrey Blue and Wisteria inks.

Next, I stamped the mermaids using Simon's White pigment ink, and sprinkled the Broken China and Cracked Pistachio glazes over the image and heat set it.  Then, I added touches of embossing ink with the Distress embossing pen, and added Kitsch Flamingo glaze.

Next step is to watercolor the mermaids and waves using of course...Mermaid Markers! Because of the paper I was using, I squeezed a bit of color out on the glass mat, and picked it up with the water brush.

I laid the Simon In the Round stencil over the card and lightly applied Audrey Blue and Key Lime ink into the bubbles.

Then, I went over the mermaid tails with clear Wink of Stella, and touched the waves with it also. 

I stamped "Beauty comes from within", added a few bubbles and ribbon and twine, then edged it with Kitsch Flamingo. Final step was to layer the card with Peacock Teal and Doll Pink.

I think these mermaids are having a lot of fun out there in the ocean!
