Hello Monday my friends...and welcome to 2022! Happy New Year! Here's to a year of health and joy and creativity for each of you. It's always a good time to try out new things, and that is what our challenge is this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - SOMETHING NEW. We are also highlighting the fabulous products of Carabelle Studio, and we would love to see it if you have it. Otherwise, use anything new.
Please join me in welcoming the very talented Estelle Palumbo of Autoscrap! She is our guest designer for the month, helping us ring in the new year.
I always love to try new things, and this week I am using some new stamps from Carabelle Studio, and trying out Simon's Pawsitively Saturated inks for the first time. What a treat!
I wanted to see how well the new inks from Simon Says Stamp work with the smooshing technique, and I can say they work brilliantly. I love the bright colors! I began with one color on the craft sheet, spritzed it and smooshed the paper onto it. Then, I layered each color on top.
I definitely need something bright and cheery like these colors to lift my spirits. It's been a tough time lately, and the weather has been so dark also, so nothing helps like creative play.
I overstamped the background with this cool stamp from Carabelle Studio. I do love their stamps, they make great impressions with or without a block.
On my second sheet, I stamped one impression with the black ink.
Next, I used the Bubble stencil and a white pen and added some random circles.
I got lazy and didn't want to pull my die cut machine out, so just sketched and cut out some "feathers" from leftover papers.
The birds are also from Carabelle Studio and I pulled them from my stash, stamped them on leftover papers, and spritzed with Mica Stain.
I pulled out some alphabet stickers (I think these were from one of the awesome Simon card kits) and added the french word for birds, "Oiseaux." This makes up the left page of the journal with the bird popped up. I think it looks great on the black journal.
On the right side, I popped the bird, tucked in some tail feathers, and hand lettered my words- "Birds of a feather flock together."
I had so much fun trying out the new inks, and using my new stamps! As you can see...I do love color!!
