Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the Spritz and Splatter Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is: THINGS WITH WHEELS
I knwe I wanted to head in the color wheel direction this week with our wheels challenge. What I didn't expect was Mary Poppins putting in her tuppence of creative musing. While I was working on the rainbow of colors for the color wheel, she jus popped in and said, "Add me!" So I did. I must have been inspired by our recent watching of the movie. Truly, You never know whrere inspiration may strike from!
I began with warm ink colors, and blended them down to the center with the small blending brushes.
Next, I added in the cool colors...this is such a fun stencil from Tim Holtz to use for this.
My selection of inks. I could have pulled others but these seemed to play well together.
I decided to add a black inked border to make it pop more.
And then, it was finding the perfect items to represent Mary Popping, including a bird to show her up in the sky.
This quote seemed like the perfect fit...
And of course, Mary Poppins and her unmbrella.
The songs from the movie keep playing in my head..."Let's Go FLy a Kite", "Just a Spoonful of Suga", and so on. We enjoyed our journey back to our childhood, reminiscing about the movie.
