One more (new to me) tool...

I have had my Scor-Pal for quite awhile now and I use it all the time to score cards and little favor boxes. My biggest pet peeve with it is the lack of lines. If I want to score at 1 1/4" for instance, I always had to move the paper by hand to line it up with the correct score mark.

Well, today I had a 50% coupon for Michaels. I came home with this:

It is the Martha Stewart Score Board. Here they are side by side. The Martha Stewart one has score marks every 1/8"!

Here's a close-up. That is what sold me on it.

It also comes with this cool triangular piece that makes envelopes!

It stores right on the back of the board out of the way until you need it.

Of course, I had to try it out right away so I put the template in the top left corner and lined up my paper edge along the bottom with the measurements and scored as indicated. What's also nice is that the paper measurements and the score marks needed are printed right on the template for different sized envelopes. No guesswork needed.

Then I turned the paper 90 degrees and continued scoring all four edges. (Ignore the double score marks-guess I didn't know my fractions or was just too excited). I clipped the corners where the two score lines met so that the edges would fold together smoothly.

It is that easy! The board also has measurements to make little boxes with lids. I'm excited to try it out on other projects. While it is not a new item on the market, it is a new item for me.
