I needed a last minute birthday card for a male and came up with this design:
I cut around the top of the typewriter with an x-acto knife so that the little piece of paper could slide in just like the real thing. I'm not a real big fan of the x-acto knife, however, the secret is to use a glass cutting mat. The knife tip just glides instead of sometimes sticking in a regular cutting mat.
This design could easily be changed for any occasion by stamping different sentiments: thank you, get well soon, congratulations, etc. And if you layered on some pretty patterned paper, it instantly transforms to girly. I think I'll make a stockpile now.
I love it! Bold, graphic style says it all...and great tip for cutting with the X acto - I have to look for a glass mat now.
