Make a Plan!

Well, hello Monday! Planners are all the rage these days. We’d love to see your crafty planner pages, but this challenge can be taken many more ways! You can share a project about plans you’ve made, you could get a jump on holiday crafting, art journal a dream or hope for the future, or make a crafty plan of some other kind, and show us what happens! Join us this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

You have to plan for the weather, right? That's where my mind headed with this challenge. Of course, my many years of teaching earth science and weather just might have something to do with that!  So, off I went gathering up my weather themed items to work with.  I originally started off making a tag, painting and stenciling the background, adding a bit of washi tape...

Stamping my Tim Holtz umbrella man stamp, and since I just felt like adding something quirky, I also stamped the umbrella in magenta.

Layering the tag, adding some words, sequins, etc, I thought I was done, I like it just like this.

But for some reason, my brain just kept thinking...you could make this in to a weather journal, use it to keep track of the weather....or anything. So, I made a little book, repeated some of the stenciling and paint...

Used watercolor to create a layer of clouds across each page (used watercolor paper for the pages), but then, in that weird way of things, when I stitched the book together, I put the clouds at the bottom.   I thought about taking it apart and redoing it, but thought, what the heck, after the rainstorm, there are puddles, right?

Every day is a new adventure! Whether it is the weather, travel, or a place to take notes, this little journal is ready.

I am looking forward to seeing your plan this week. Do you love working in planners? Are you planning an event? Whatever it is, make it part of your plan to join us in this challenge!

Time to get crafty and and join us in the fun!  A random winner is chosen every week to win a  generous $50 spending spree from SimonSaysStamp!

  6. I adore how you made the rainy background on the tag! It is so full of watery wonderfulness. I also like how you paired rain with the harlequin pattern, which I never would have thought of. I've also never seen a pink umbrella with this guy, so kudos on that amazing detail, too!

  8. Maura, the tag is beautiful enough to stand alone. But I must admit that I love it on the journal cover. Very pretty!
