Hello Monday, and welcome to a brand new challenge! This week we are all about seeing clearly, so pull out your vellum and acetate, or anything clear, and join us!
I had a lot of ideas banging around in my head for this, but in the end, I decided to go for a bit of fashion sense. The 1920's Chic set by Darkroom Door gave me the inspiration.
I pulled out my alcohol inks, which I haven't used in such a long time! I started with a clear heavy sheet of plastic, and just loved playing with the inks - it's hard to know when to stop! I wasn't sure how well my Ranger Jet Black archival ink would work over the alcohol inks, but it worked beautifully! I rubbed a bit of red ink into the dress with my finger.
I added some of Tim Holtz's new Gilded Remnant Rubs, and they are gorgeous! You can see clearly here through the plastic to the script paper I have underneath.
I used Prima vellum flowers and spritzed with Candy Apple Red, and Gold Shine sprays. Stamped "Style" on the plastic and "is eternal" on the wood piece, and finished off with a couple of gears.
I love the new hangers that Tim Holtz has! They are just so fun to use, and I thought perfect to hang my fashion plate from! I added some hand dyed gold ribbon, and gears and charms to the pin. Some fashions are just timeless...
Notice how very different this piece looks against a dark vs. a light background.
Believe me, I am no fashionista, but I do like a few timeless pieces that I can wear anywhere, anytime! Yes, this is clearly timeless elegance!
Pull something clear out of your stash now, and join us in the fun this week!
