Emerald Creek Dares has a challenge right now that is all about green, Irish, gold, beer...in other words, right up my alley, so I had to create something to enter! After all, I have a lot of Irish to share, as my family would say, or is that groan?
Pulled out a whole bunch of green stuff and started playing in one of my art journals, so here we go!
Playing with acrylics and a Finnabair stencil
Adding in some words from an old Celtic script stamp, and stenciling in some Celtic designs with some bright greens...working on layers!
Distress inks on watercolor paper to create the medallion...and a bit of contrast.
Adding some luck and hand lettering...
And, I thought I was done here...
But decided to stencil in some dots with purple using punchinella. What do you think? Should I have left it like above, or added the dots?
I love all the wonderful symbolism the Celts used in their art, so much is interconnected, or infinite like the circles. And of course, all the greens are just perfect for the "Emerald Isle," land of 10,000? shades of green. Oh, I do love my green!
So much lovely layers and fabulous depth of colour, love it! Thank you for the lovely comment on my blog you made my day! Karen x
