Welcome friends! I am so glad you stopped by while hopping through all the coffee, tea, and cocoa creative goodness. I never imagined there were so many awesome ways to share our love of the brew!
Awhile ago on the Facebook Group we were chatting about our excess of mugs and what we do with them. I had mentioned in my house, whenever we come home with a new mug, my son insists we get rid of two old ones - not a bad thing to do since the cupboards are bursting with mugs, it seems. So the idea we came up with was to repurpose the mugs! I do love the idea of filling the mug with a little plant and giving it away as a gift, so that is what inspired today's card!
I used Tim Holtz's Cuppa Joe sketch stamp and a new release from Simon Says Stamp Reason to Smile collection - Spring Flowers. A bit of watercolor, paint spattering and fussy cutting and my card is done. I think this might be my favorite one I made for the hop!
Blog candy giveaway for the hop, details can be found here.
Great card! So pretty and different!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea of gift gifting cups when you can't fit a new one in the cupboard...and love the card you created with the watercoloring background.
ReplyDeleteAwesome card! Love the Tim Holtz stamp. Great idea with the mugs ... hubby is always looking for something different to put his plants in ... his hobby is Bonsai.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a great idea, and what a very cool way to use stamps in another way! Love it!
ReplyDeletefabulous card, thanks for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteWhat a SWEET card!! And that's a fabulous idea to do with the cups! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteVery artsy looking card. Well done
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, love how you incorporated a flower into the mug and that is something I would not have thought of doing lol!
ReplyDeleteUsing purple and rust was definitely not my idea and definitely out of my colour comfort zone lol! I decided to be brave and take part in the challenge at Vintage Journey: it's my first time playing there. I wouldn't have used rust as I have an unnatural aversion to using brown in my projects, however, I learnt a lot and I actually love those little rusty spots, lol! My mixed media journey continues, thank you for the lovely comments Karen x
Love that you turned your coffee mug into a potted plant holder! So pretty and so very clever!
