Here is a page I just finished in my art journal for my Wanderlust class. I used a Tim Holtz "found relative" for my photo and collaged a background for it. This was my first try with the PaperArtsy Fresco paints, and I must say, I do like them!
I chose this photo because it made me think of the many classes of students I have taught over the years. They have grown up now and are out there and inspiring others!
Maura...this page is AWESOME! I haven't had a chance to watch the video yet and now I HAVE to make the time!!! I totally LOVE what you've done here! Love all of the colors, the patterns and the more "artsy" style mixed with the more traditional vintage photograph. LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI love your page, and I recognize not only the PA paints but also the first special stamps plate created by PA for Wanderlust in your background! Great use of it! I have to follow this prompt too, not done yet, but I really want to have on try on this one.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Hugs, Coco
Super! Three cheers for group photos (my favorites), you've used this one perfectly.
ReplyDeleteHi Maura. Thanks for the nice comment about the spring cleaning pages. I took that prompt literally. haha I just had to come back for another look at this page you did using Kasia's idea of mixing old photographs in with mixed media. I love doing that but I think your page is just awesome. I love the photograph first of all. Then the colors you've used with it...I think they are spot on. I also love the ghost like hearts and the scribbles. That sentiment is also just perfect for the picture of the children. Hopefully they did grow up to inspire! :)
