Bright and Cheerful

Hello Monday my friends! Welcome to this week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - BRIGHT AND CHEERFUL. Around here, fishing season has begun, so I doodled and painted a fishy page for a junk journal, in bright and cheerful colors to celebrate the season.

Pop-up Fish Page

I started by gessoing and painting a paper bag for my background in blues and greens, using acrylic paints.  While that dried, I started to doodle fish and water plants onto watercolor paper with a black pen.

I added watercolors, then fussy cut the pieces.

My fish seem to be smiling...these must be the ones that got away.

I wanted to create an interactive page that popped up.

Since I had minimal materials with me at the time, I made "springs" for the fish out of watercolor paper, by bending it in an accordion fold and attaching it to the fish.

I just added an extra tab to the plants so they would pop open.

My bright, cheerful fish make me smile!

I used just a few materials for my page, but lots of imagination (inspired by Dianna Petty Lippe). Now it's your turn to create a bright and cheerful make and share it with us! Our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp are offering a $25 shopping voucher to one participant.

A great place to shop!
