Happy Hour!

Hello Monday, and welcome friends to a new challenge from Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - HAPPY HOUR! Think drinks, cocktails....fun!

UPDATE:WOOHOO - Splitcoast Stampers Favorite for the week of May 18!! Lovely honor!

As Cyndi Lauper sings "Girls just wanna have fun"! So why not dress up in a pretty outfit, gather a few friends, and have some fun this week. Oh, and crank up the tunes!

Uptown Girls Victoria and Juliette are ready to party!

I have a simple project this week with my card. I stamped the image on watercolor paper, and colored it with my Mermaid Markers and a water brush. It's easy to add a bit more water to tone down the colors as needed.

I also stamped the dresses on some pretty paper and cut them out and adhered them. Then, I used the Woven stencil and a couple of blues to create a background around my lovely ladies.

I decided I needed some baubles, so added these in, plus a couple of glittery stars in Juliette's hair.

I hope you are inspired to join us in this week's fun challenge! One lucky participant will be randomly drawn for a $50 voucher from our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp!

A Sea Dragon goes to Creativation 2017!

Today, I want to share my Sea Dragon I made for Creativation 2017 for Buttons Galore and More! I can't tell you how exciting it is for me to be asked to create for Creativation!! WOW!!

I am going to run through how I did this mainly through photos, so there will be a lot of photos - maybe grab a cuppa to look through these :)

I started with a 12x14 canvas, and this will give you an idea of how I created my ocean background.

And here we are underwater looking upward towards the surface....

Next, I sketched out my sea dragon and cut it out of patterned paper and a solid purple.

Details are sketched and doodled in...

Time for adding the buttons from this wonderful mix, aren't those colors gorgeous?

Details of the buttons, beads and sequins used to add dimension to the dragon.

Painting details....

Thanks for stopping by, and please, if you have any questions, ask!
I had so much fun imagining and creating my canvas. Thank you Buttons Galore for asking me to do a project for Creativation 2017!
