STAMPtember Collaboration with Tim Holtz!

The STAMPtember party continues in a very special way! Simon Says Stamp and Tim Holtz have collaborated to bring you this wonderful stamp and stencil set! It is an exclusive and supplies are limited, so be sure to get yours for the holidays! I LOVE mine, and it will be a great addition for creating for Christmas this year!

I've used the set to make a holiday mini book, and filled it with found relatives, but it could easily be turned in to a "December Daily" or holiday mini for your photos of the big day!

I chose mostly blues and browns for my color palette, with a few surprises that happened along the way. I started out by adding gesso to both sides of the giant tags. I was thinking this would make them a bit sturdier, but I forgot the effect it can also have on the distress oxides as they keep reacting with the next wet layer.

I love how these look, almost like snowflakes and this is what I wanted to keep, but when I added the collage medium to seal in the blue side, it blended together further.

Once the blue side was sealed and dried, I figured it was safe to work on the neutrals, then add in a bit of the blue and purple.

Time to seal these with the collage medium to keep them like this!

I also cut squares for photo mounts to put in the book, again working with my color palette.

Woohoo! I christened my new Tonic Stamp Platform, which is awesome and I love how it stamps so clearly. I wanted to stamp the images tone on tone.

Repeat with the blues and purples...

By this time, my tags were thoroughly dry, so I went in and stamped some areas, as well as using the stencil and dabbing in paints.

It looks like chaos, but it's just me figuring out what I want to use and choosing some images. I was going to leave the pages blank, but then I thought it would be fun to use some of the old photos and paper dolls that Tim offers.

Back cover...

I ended up with so many photos of the mini album pages and details, that I thought it would be easier to view it in a little video, so here is my holiday mini album! Enjoy!!
