Wild Things

Hello Monday my friends! We have a new challenge for you this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - WILD THINGS. I headed to nature for my wild things and made a notepad cover.

It's been such a treat having Karolina Bukowska with us this month! Looking forward to more creative makes from Karolina.

Ready to take some notes?

I made a cover for a notepad by taking a piece of 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock and scoring it at 5.25" from either end (long way). I made a cover piece for the top of the notepad and stamped the zig zag pattern across it.

I also wanted a pocket for the other side, and cut a piece of watercolor paper and stamped the zig zag on that, and stamped wild plants on the pocket.

I added more detail to the pocket with a white pen.

I stamped the Exterminata border  and embossed with Simon's Clear Detail embossing powder. Next, I added the Distress Oxides and spritzed the paper. I did this twice, and made sure to wipe it off the embossed area.

Inside of notepad cover...

I sometimes have a problem getting a detailed image with a large stamp, and that happened here with my embossing. I decided to stamp the images again on paper and use the distress inks, then cut them out. I also stamped the fun zentangle like strings and the word on the front, and used white to highlight.

So, my wild things are of the winged and rooted varieties. I wonder how you will interpret our Wild Things challenge this week, and I look forward to seeing what you share! One lucky person will be chosen for a  $50 shopping voucher from our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp!
