Past Vision

Welcome to our May challenge, steampunk fans!  Lots of inspiration from the design team today on Sandee and Amelie's Steampunk Challenges, and we would love to have you join us this month in our steampunk/industrial mixed media challenge.

Isn't steampunk a vision into the past of an alternative future? Now if that's not a twisted bit of words, I'm not sure what is! I was thinking about our vision of the past, going back to the age of steam still immersed in the Victorian age while working on my ATC's. It definitely is an idea that revs up my imagination!

PAST VISION

I made a pair of artist trading cards, beginning with a mottled blue/green background. I love the transparent quality of many of the DecoArt Fluid Acrylics, which really lets you create some wonderful layers.

I think I have a new favorite - Quinacridone Burnt Orange. I love the look of fire here.

I stamped on some vision and time themed images onto the abc's using Visible Image stamps.

I added some Lime mixed media powder and gilding flakes.

Then, dug out some fun detail pieces to add.

This dapper gent has some timely visions of the past.

The all seeing eye is watching you!

Steampunk makes can be fairly simple and easy to create, or very detailed and complex. This month I chose the easy path. I hope you are inspired to create your own make and join us in May!

Many thanks to our wonderful and generous sponsors who keep the cogs and gears turning at SASPC!
