Simon Says: Stitch It!

Hello Monday, my friends! I hope you have had a fantastic week, and are looking forward to a new challenge! Well, we have one for you this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - STITCH IT. Any stitching will work, real or faux, so come join in the fun!

I made two sewing themed tags for this week's challenge, including pins, needles, zippers and threads.

I used a gel plate to get a nice blend of colors, and spritzed on a bit of water to get some added texture.

a lovely mix of greens...

...and look at that texture!

Next, I blended yellow, orange, and brown and used the new STAMPtember Simon Says Stamp stencil - QUILTED to add the next layer onto the tag.

I hand dyed seam binding and tied some on to the tag, along with a zipper, thread and a chip quote, after I stamped the zipper and thread designs on the tag.

Stitching often makes me think of home and growing up, even those Home Ec sewing classes I had to take.

I hand dyed seam binding with Pumice Stone, added a pin and needle with thread to this tag.

I adhered the threads with gel medium, and added a quote chip. I stamped the scissors with paint first, then overstamped them with ink to create a shadow.

Limited Edition - isn't this true of every hand sewn piece?

So, get out your stitching and come join in the fun this week! One lucky participant, drawn at random, will win a $50 shopping voucher from our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp! I'd love to hear your thoughts on my tags too.
