Celebrating Autumn with Tim Holtz!

Hello Monday and welcome my creative friends! Can you believe it is already October? The trees here are  putting on their fiery colors, which is a wonderful inspiration when working on your art. This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge our theme is AUTUMN/FALL and we all celebrating all things TIM, Tim Holtz of course! I know many of you are great admirers of all of the wonderful products Tim comes up with year after year, so this week is a great time to pull out some of your favorite Tim items and create with us!

AND, we have the wonderfully talented JO at Let's Art Journal  with us for the month of October! I have truly enjoyed watching her come into her own, and love what she shares. Besides her art, she shares little peeks into her everyday life with her lovely photos. Welcome Jo, so glad to have you with us!

My husband and I were on a recent day trip into the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. We went to a watercolor show and did some leaf peeping. The leaf peepers, as we call the folks who come here to see the fall foliage, were out in force, lots of cars (even though you only see one), tour buses, and of course, road construction before winter sets in. It was a beautiful day, and I wanted to share a few photos, so you could see my inspiration for this week's challenge.

Now, on to the project!

STAY CURIOUS

I like watching the squirrels, especially in the fall when they are gathering for winter. Here, I am imagining my squirrel so intrigued by the beautiful fall leaves, that he just had to gather some up for himself.

If you would like to see how I made the Filigree Squirrel (STAMPtember 2019)  background with Distress Spray Stains for this page, you can find it HERE

I wanted to add a bit of a background to the page and kept it simple with Distress Ink and Tumbling Leaves stencil (STAMPtember 2019).

I stamped out Tim's Tiny Toadstools (LOVE this set!) and started coloring them with the Distress Markers. I haven't used these in a long time, and they still work fine!

Lots of pretty leaves and foliage for my squirrel using Tim's Fall Foliage dies, and layering on the Tiny Toadstools.

I added in a Quote Chip - STAY CURIOUS,  distressed the paper edges, and finished my page.

Now, it's your turn to find your Tim Holtz products (or anything) and create something to join the challenge. One participant is randomly drawn to win a $50 shopping voucher from our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp. Did you know they offer a voucher every week, here and on the Wednesday challenge?

I so enjoyed seeing your photos or the White Mountains too, it is such a gorgeous place and I can see how it inspired your make! Thanks so much for having me in the Designer Spotlight this month and for your lovely words 😁. Wishing you a Happy October! Hugs, Jo x
