Hello Monday, my friends! Are you ready for a new challenge? We have one for you at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - RECYCLE! I don't know about you, but we get a LOT of boxes delivered to our house, especially as the holidays draw near. We recycle all that cardboard, but I wanted to try something a bit different, so used it to make my Christmas ornament.
Get Your Jingle On!
I started by peeling some of the paper off one side of the cardboard to reveal the corrugation. Then, I found a large lid to use to draw my circle.
I used a smaller cup for the next size circle. I glued the large pieces together after I inserted some ribbon in the middle, then a smaller circle on top of each side, kind of like a big cookie. Now, that I thought of that...yum, Christmas cookies!
I dripped glossy accents down both sides and sprinkled with Distress Glitter, then set that aside to dry.
Meanwhile, I stamped two blueprint bells on watercolor paper, and inked with the Distress Oxides.
I spritzed a bit of water on top, lifted it with a paper towel and dried. Next, I cut them out, glued on stars, added the bell and jingle bell, then more Glossy Accents and Distress Glitter. It kind of looks like a smiley face to me.
I adhered it all to the cardboard with pop tape, stamped the saying and added that to both sides.
Here, you can see the dimension from the layers of cardboard.
So, how about a rustic ornament for your Christmas tree? You get to create and recycle at the same time.
Have you started looking around your place to find something to recycle? I can't wait to see what ideas you come up with that I can try out! See you at the challenge, and remember, our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp offer a $50 voucher to one participant drawn at random each challenge.
A GREAT place to shop!
