Hello Monday my friends, and welcome to this week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - TAPE IT UP! So many possibilities with this challenge, and I chose to use some beautiful washi tape. We've had some snow flurries, and the snow is definitely on its way, so I had to pull out these cute sledding gnomes. We spent many a year sledding and tobogganing on the hills near our house in winter, and as I was working, those memories returned.
It's been wonderful having Nikki with us for the month of November! I will be looking forward to more wonderful mixed media projects from you, Nikki!
GNOME FUN
I started with the snowflake stencil and a light distress ink for the background on watercolor paper.
Then, I laid strips of washi tape at an angle to represent the hill. I am loving those blues!
I stamped the gnomes using my Stamp Platform, and colored them in with Tombow Markers.
Stamped the inside of the cards...
Finally, after fussy cutting, and using pop tape, I added a bit of detail with the Nuvo drops and a bit of glitter.
A couple more Christmas cards done (and many to go!). Think about the kinds of tape you could use this week from washi to masking, duct tape to a stamped tape image...what will you choose to use? Please join us, and remember our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp offer a $50 shopping voucher to one lucky participant every challenge!
