Steampunk Goes Down the Rabbit Hole

Hello Monday my friends! Checking in with all of you with wishes of good health for you and yours, and hoping all is ok in your part of the world. This week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is STEAMPUNK.

Steampunk is definitely a favorite genre of mine, and I have to say that this week, I went down the rabbit hole with my steampunk. I think it comes from the feeling that my life (and I am sure yours) is going down the rabbit hole into a completely different place than where it was not too long ago.  So here we go....

MY REALITY

I did decide to journal a bit on the other page and get my thoughts down to share with you. (Do you notice the thorns on the vine?)

Well, this idea kind of grew out of finding this postcard from Simon hidden away in my stash (well one of my piles). The day I was working on this was the first day of Spring, and that's what this said to me.

Ok, so how do you turn hopping rabbits and Simon into steampunk? I'll start with a metallic foundry background.

...then make some rusty rabbits...

Stamping out a few accessories...

I did some coloring with Tombow markers and a water brush, added gears, wings, doodled the flowers, added the lurking cat...

details, details, details...

I did not notice that round washer that jumped on board until after the photos.

Time to squeeze out a few ideas and make things work!

The chaos on my work table matches the chaos I am feeling right now.

On the bright side, spending my days at home gives me more time to create, and let my imagination go a little wild!

Working on finding the balance between creating, taking care of myself and the family, and thankful we are home, have food, our health...and TOILET PAPER! (here in the USA, there have been epic runs on buying up TP and shortages) How are all of you doing?

If you are home also, find some time to create and join our Steampunk challenge! Our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp are offering a $50 shopping voucher to one participant drawn at random.
