Hello Monday my friends! Welcome back to this week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - ADD A PHOTO. Well, I added three to tell a life story.
Sadly, we are saying goodbye to our talented guest designer Tracy Ware this week. I know you've enjoyed her awesome projects as much as I have. Wishing you the best Tracy, see you out there on the web!
I decided to head to one of my art journals this week and share a story for 2020. Read on!
EMBRACE THE GREY
I started with multiple layers of grey, and added in a bit of background design with the Simon STAMPtember Deco Squares stencil.
I stamped an image, words and designs to go with my photos, keeping with my grey theme.
As we all know, 2020 has been one strange year, and I am going to share one personal, slightly humorous story with you. When we went into lockdown in March, I'd had a haircut and color in February, so I was good. As time passed, more grey showed up and my hair got longer. I did NOT like this very much, and wanted to get back to the me that I saw. Since that was not to be, my hair just got longer and grayer, and then I kind of started to like it. LOL!
So here we are in September, long and lots of white/grey. To show this beyond my photo, I added in some white lines to Andrea Ockey Parr's girl. I am embracing my grey!
September marked my 7 month haircut...I have never gone this long before, since my younger self had long hair. No color for me, and keep it a bit longer please! Let's see where this goes! My hairdresser was really interested in the pattern of my grey and took a photo to show me - she told me I am an angel, I have a halo of grey around my head....wait until I tell hubby this one!
Before....
After...
Well, that was fun! What story do your photos tell? Create something with a photo (or more) and join us this week! Our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp are offering a $25 shopping voucher to one of you.
A great place to shop!
Fabulous art journal page Maura :-) Several of my family and friends have embraced the grey this year too! I was chicken ;-) It really suits you!! The photos are fabulous and I love the background and Andrea's girl :-)

Maura! Oh, my! It takes courage to tell your hair raising story here, but you have done a wonderful job, and I've enjoyed the photos on your artsy background. I, too, am embracing the grey! I missed my appointment for color/cut in Feb. as I was still ill and didn't want to share my germs. Of course, lock down followed, and here we are today. I knew I had a lot of grey, but never knew it was this bad! I do love the savings and the extra time, but I'm not sold on the look for me! At 60 years young, I guess it's time to embrace the grey!
ReplyDeleteHa ha Maura! Good on you! I am in exactly the same situation. We will hopefully have restrictions lifted in a couple of weeks and I'm trying to decide what to do with my hair:) I love your jounal layouts and the story it tell.
