Treasures of the Kraken!

Hello Monday my friends! Welcome back to another challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week, we are all about STEAMPUNK! If you follow me on social media or my blog, you know I am a huge fan of steampunk. It really does something to my imagination!

Don't you wonder what goes on in the ocean deeps? I came across a treasure hunting Kraken, filling his bag with found treasures to take back to his lair.

TREASURES OF THE KRAKEN

I started several days ago by making my molds and letting them dry. I painted it with some older items I had on hand (Patina effects).

I smudged on a bit of Twisted Citron paint to add a touch of green.

I stamped the Old Letter with white ink on a black canvas.

I made up a treasure haul for my Kraken by using cheesecloth I had dyed with coffee. It's filled with pearls, shells, jewels, a compass, and ....? I pulled it all together with a stick pin.

I smudged some brass on the plastic letters that I had in my stash, and added a few gears.

I'm using a background from Stamperia Sea World on the canvas.

I hope you've enjoyed steampunk canvas! Come join us and have some fun with this cool genre! Our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp are offering a $25 shopping voucher, so come play with us.

A GREAT place to shop!

  3. You creation is sea-worthy greatness. Especially like the Kraken so I had to sea (coukkd not resi st) where you got it from to find out you molded the artwork yourself. My daughter was looking for a Halloween tentacle candelabra but all sold out at Target and some people are asking ridiculous prices on eBay for it.
