Fabulous Florals

 

 

 Hello Monday my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Red, White oand/or Blue  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: FABULOUS FLORALS

The gardens and wild flowers are in full bloom around here. I've been playing with my watercolors lately so though I would try them in this week's challenge. 

Beauty in Simplicity

T used a stencil and brushed several watercolor paints through the stencil. Keep your brush fairly dry for this technique. If you use too mush water, it seeps under the stencil. I wanted to create soft watercolor florals in my art journal, so let's see how it turned out.

Voila!  Here are the flowers. Be sure your watercolor is dry before you add the next color into the background.

I decided to overstep some of the watercolor flowers, using Tim Holtz Floral Outlines.

I added blue into the background, then used a leaf stencil and acrylic paint to layer leaves over the flowers.

Of course, I had to doodle around the leaves to make them stand out a bit more.

I stamped the quote and layered it on cardstock.
