Stamp It! Welcome STAMPtember!

Hello Monday my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Make Your Own Background Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

Please join me in welcoming our guest designer, Anita Rao of Beads, Charms and Wires,  for the month of September. I know you will enjoy her gorgeous work!

This week the challenge is: STAMP IT! STAMPtember!

The new release can be found HERE!

Yes! It's that lovely time of year called STAMPtember, when Simon Says Stamp goes all out in celebrating stamping! Every day is something new, so be sure to check back on the Simon website often. Lots of companies are participating and sharing a limited exclusive product. I am using the Simon Says Stamp exclusive OH FRANK stamp set.

THE FRANK ESCAPE

Frank is breaking out, better watch out!

I blended a mix of inks - rose, citrine and lucky onto watercolor paper, spritzed it with water, and a few moments later, lifted the ink spots with a paper towel.

I stamped Frank over the inked area.

On the inside, I layered orange over the black card, and stamped Happy Halloween with a couple of eyes peering out.

I broke through the other section of orange paper, and pulled pieces outward. I wanted it to look as if Frank was coming through the card by stamping hands along two pieces.

I distressed the edges, then added Distress Crackle Paste in a thick layer, and sprinkled on some black micro beads. I set this aside to dry for several hours.

Detail of stamping and crackle....I think the crackle didn't work as well as I wanted it to because it was so humid out.

Voila! The finished card....I think the spooky Frank still looks kind of cute!

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $25 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

  1. Love this, Maura! Your 'breaking through' effect is brilliant! Love the colors you've used, and the microbeads add so much texture to the card! Just awesome.
