Things With Wings

 

 Hello Monday my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Things With Wheels  Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: THINGS WITH WINGS

RAVEN AND THE STRAWBERRY MOON 

Yes, it is still February, almost March...but Raven is dreaming about the Strawberry Moon in June. To be honest, Maura is dreaming of it too! I created a duo of ATC's honoring Raven and his long wait until June and those fresh, juicy strawberries.

 I  began by cutting some watercolor papers I had previously made into ATC size, and cut out some circle elements to add to them. I love playing with watercolor and creating colorful background papers. I also added gold marks to these with a paint brush.

I edged the pieces with ink using one of Simon's small blending brushes - these have fast become a favorite tool of mine.  

I added some doodling with black pen. 

Then, it was playing with the placement of the pieces. On this one, I added a trio of circles, then placed the branch and Raven on top. I like how the black doodles echo the dark raven. Final step was hand lettering "FLY Away". 

Some bold doodles and raven...then I hand lettered "spread your wings" 

It's fun to work in a smaller size like ATC's. I hope you've enjoyed the colorful backgrounds that make Raven pop!
