 Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  Romance, Wedding, Anniversary   Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is: LET'S ART JOURNAL

I pulled out one of my older art journals, two photos my son's girlfriend gave me, some inks, paper and stamps and starting creating...

THE ADVENTURES OF BEN AND ROWAN 

I began with some ink smooshing. I tried to match ink colors to those in the photos. It's not as easy to lay an art journal into the ink, but just keep repeating the process and you will get there.

I blended in a bit more of the Cadette ink with a small blending brush.  

Then, I added some water splatter, let it sit for half a minute, then lifted with a paper towel. Here is the backgrounds that emerged.  

Next layer in the art journal is some stamped crackle with Mocha ink. 

I added some stamped marks using Tracy Scott's set from Paper Artsy. When you use the same inks, you know it will all come together.  

I trimmed my photos and cardstock, and rounded the corners. I also stamped a trio of hearts that I fussy cut out and popped up.  

 I like to add some writing in my own handwriting, and it's fun to change up the font a bit for more interest. Ben and Kari took Rowan on his first big trip, and they stopped at Lake Erie on the way. 

There is so much love between these two!
