Simon Says Stamp It! It's Stamptember!

Happy Monday, friends! We are celebrating STAMPtember at Simon Says Stamp all month long, and we are getting the party rolling this week at the Monday Challenge!

Please join me in welcoming this month's guest designer, Carol Harper of "Carol Stamps". I know you will love seeing her awesome additions this month!

I got this cute die "Picture Book Sweet Cat" from the new STAMPtember 2017 collection, and decided to make a couple of pink kitty tags.

I used watercolor paper as the base, rounded the top corners and punched in an opening. Then I used Distress Oxide inks and Simon's Circular Lace stencil to add and subtract color.

I wanted to add some words to my tags, as well as a few hearts.

I love coloring my own ribbon and have done it many times with the distress inks, but this is the first time I tried it with the Distress Oxides, and it works great! Rub some on the craft sheet, spritz that and the ribbon with water, and "smoosh" it into the ink. Crumple it up and let it dry.

I decided to use the lace stencil again and add a bit of design to the kitties bellies. On the top one I also went in with black pen a bit, and on both I used Wink of Stella to add a bit of shimmer.

Now I have two cute pink kitty tags to add to a gift or use for a friend!

STAMPtember is revving up and I hope you will join us in celebrating stamping this month! If you have Simon Exclusives, we would love to see them!

Our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp are offering a $50 gift voucher to one lucky participant!

Celebrating Mondays!

Happy Birthday to us!! We are celebrating the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, and I bet you can guess how many years! Yes, 7!!

Please join me in welcoming Simona Rebecchi, aka Ginny and the Sheep as our Guest Designer this month! I know you are going to enjoy her creativity!! We are so happy to have you with us, Simona!

If you have kids, grands, nieces, nephews, neighbors between the ages of 2 and 16, we have a special summer challenge just for them this month!

Can you believe it?! 7 years - I think that is exciting!! I decided to make a celebration card.

I started off by stamping the Kaleidoscope Background stamp from Simon's new release - Encouraging Words. Next, I added Distress Oxides and spritzed it with water. I let that dry and then went back in and blended a bit more. I also used the oxide inks on the ruler ribbon. As you can see, I did a bit of stitching too!

And here is why you should ALWAYS check what your word looks like before you add ink and stamp!! LOL!

I dug through my stash and found as many sevens as I could and arranged them in a cluster along with my words. I added some Rainbow Unicorn bling from 28 Lilac Lane to finish it off. Aren't these colors luscious?

I stamped the MONDAY to the bottom in pink, and then added a secondary stamping of blue to make a shadow. I'm not sure if it looks like a shadow, or double vision!

So please come join us in celebrating our 7 years!! Think Happy Birthday, and show us your Simon Says Stamp products if you have them. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make!

Simon Says Stamp is offering TWO $50 gift certificates, drawn at random.

Simon Says: Let's Take Vacation!

Hello Monday, my friends! We have a brand new challenge for you this week at Simon Says Stamp and it's Let's Take Vacation! Fun one for this time of the year, right? I grew up camping with my family, and have gone camping ever since. We've done camping trips and adventures for years with our sons and traveled to some of our favorite destinations - the Southwest, the Rockies, Maine, the eastern provinces of Canada - all in tents! So of course, I thought of a camping theme for this challenge, but went with this cute tiny trailer...maybe someday!

I repeatedly stamped the trailer design on the Oasis pack from Crate Paper.

Laying things out trying to figure out my piecing.

Ok, I like this!

Working on the tag background, starting with strips of paper I've used for the trailer.

Layering on some paints and adding some stamped designs.

I decided to use both transparent and opaque texture paste on the tag.

Adding in some lovely worn lipstick Distress Oxide by wiping the ink pad on my craft sheet, spritzing it with water, and laying the tag down repeatedly.

I added some lovely fibers to the tag and one of Tim Holtz's new Assemblage charms.

I had fun thinking of words I associate with types of vacations and places to go, and pulling out my Mint typewriter to jot them down.

I hope you've enjoyed my tag and are inspired to create a project of your very own and join us in our challenge!

Simon Says Stamp is offering a generous $50 voucher for the challenge!

Simon Says: New Release - Cherished!

Simon Says Stamp has a new release today - Cherished.
I love the quirkiness of the "Crafting Time" stamp I got to work with!

I don't know about you, but this definitely describes my crafting friends and I! Nothing better than crafting in PJ's and being totally comfortable!!

I took two different papers I had made with the gelli plate to layer under the saying. I used my MISTI and stamped the words repeatedly with Simon Says Stamp Black Premium Dye ink until the image was totally crisp and clear. Layered them up and finished it off with a bit of twine.

I think I may have to make up a batch of these to share at our next crafty get together :)

Head on over to visit Simon and check out the new release!

Happy Birthday Dan!

I made a birthday card for my son, Dan. He loves to garden, so I thought I would go with a nature theme.
I started by creating my background with Distress Oxide inks. Rub them on the craft mat, spritz with water, and lay the card into it. Repeat as often as you like - I like to dry one layer before adding another.

Next, I stamped leaf images from stamps I made into the background.

Then, using my MISTI, I placed the flower stamps exactly where I wanted them and stamped.

Birthday wishes stamped inside the card...with the MISTI you can stamp repeatedly until you get a beautiful crisp image.

I added a touch of red and orange to balance out the greens, doodled in a tiny bit and stamped the envelope. I hope you've enjoyed this fun and easy card!
Let me know if you have any questions.
