Getting Ready for School
One of the ways I have started to get ready to return to school in the past few years is to alter my plan book. As a teacher, the plan book is an integral part of my teaching. I use it every day to plan for my students, to keep track of grades, attendance...all the vital records of learning.
I decided a few years ago to alter my plan book and make it my very personal one. Each year I use a different "theme". This year, I chose to go with a very natural look by using Jillibean Soup kraft papers. Since I teach Science, the owl theme seems perfect, and the tag just fit the whole plan book idea. I added a tab for each quarter of the year, and hand drew the numbers to look similar to the Jillibean design.
One thing is for certain, my plan book is not going to get misplaced among all the rest.
To all you teachers out there, have a wonderful year!

I love it Maura! The owl theme is perfect for you. I am a big fan of the kraft papers that you used. It's fun to alter an everyday work item so that you love it. Good job and thanks for sharing. Here's to another great school year!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila! I am glad you shared Jillibean with me.
ReplyDeleteMaura,
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute idea! I hope to get my own plan book this year, although I won't need it for the same reasons...in case you hadn't heard I got hired as a TA at the IS! I'm sooooo excited! See you on conference day, but before then at Michelle's!
Congratulations Tabitha! I think Dawn mentioned to me that you would be at Perth. I started my teaching career as a TA too.
ReplyDeleteSee you soon!
