Autumn Wonders

Welcome to Monday, my friends! We have a brand new challenge for you at Simon Says Stamp - we are all about Autumn this week.

I love the magic of Autumn as the season puts on its cloak of many colors! I took a little trip into the mountains this week to do some leaf peeping and found this gorgeous display of colors! Think about what most inspires you about Autumn and join us in the fun this week!

I was inspired to make two tags in rich Autumn colors with a hint of the magic of this special season.

I started with my Tim Holtz Twisted stencil and sprayed it with mica spray and laid it down on the tag, then repeated this step with the Ground Espresso.

Next, I took the Autumn stencil and added another layer with fall colors in spray. On one I sprayed through, and on the other I laid the stencil down on the tag to get the reverse image.

I toned down the backgrounds by going over them in darker inks.

I spritzed on some water and just love those little bubbles that appear.

I added a bit of color tinting to the found relative with distress crayons.

Details, details...I went around the edges of the tags with Black Soot paint. I turned my lovely lady into a winged fairy or goddess, added part of the acorn and leaves to make her lovely hat, and some coffee dyed lace, along with "dreams from her heart." I remember as a child playing outdoors all the time, and making little imaginary figures from leaves and twigs and whatever else I could find, and this tag reminds me of that childhood memory.

The leaves and acorn are my first time using the Paper Artsy Infusions, and what rich and varied explosion of color!

I couldn't just stop at one tag, so went on to create this sweet nature baby. I added the other half of the acorn for a hat, and the camera, leaf and coffee dyed cheesecloth, then found the metal band with
"Always be on the lookout for the presence of wonder."

Celebrating the magic in the Autumn season!

How do you celebrate Autumn? Is it the gorgeous colors? the chilly nights? crunchy leaves or apples? Get inspired by this beautiful season and join us this week in the challenge! Remember, one lucky person wins a $50 voucher from our generous sponsor!
