Travel Tag Book

Hello Friends! It's Monday and we have a new challenge for you - TAG IT!
I decided to go tag crazy for this one and create a mini album made of tags and filled with them too.

I wanted to make a travel album filled with different types of papers for both journaling, drawing, and painting that I can take on a trip. I also wanted it to come apart and go back together easily, so I can take a page out to work on, or add more pages to this, and the ruler finding from Tim Holtz is perfect for this.

I'm going to share some steps with you first, then a video I created to show you the finished book.

I'm using a mix of black, kraft and manila #12 tags, as well as some water color paper. I scored the ruler edge at about 1" so it would be easier to go through the pages, clipped them all together, then punched the holes.

I made lots of different size tags with the dies and Tim Holtz's French Industrial papers. I like both the vintage feel and travel theme to these papers.

Next, I stamped different travel themed and number stamps onto my tags, and threaded some of the small ones.

I attached some of the tags together.

I also stamped travel images onto the large tags that make up the book.

For my covers, I went back to this great technique for creating texture.
TIP: Put a thick layer of paint onto your covers, then crinkle and lay a plastic bag down onto the covers. I press it down a bit more, then set this aside, usually overnight, so the paint will dry. When you lift the bag, you can see the awesome texture!

  3. Oh! I am a fan of any kind of texture and haven't tried this one ever! So cool and showy! Love that! The big problem whic I see with my impatient self is to let it dry overnight, lol. Besides, I love the mini or even micro tags you added to the big ones, so sweet! And the colors and stamping are stunning, too. Hugs, Macarena
