It's been wonderful having Pauline with us this month sharing her amazing creativity. 

This week the challenge is: MATCHED SET

I thought I had pulled out a plain sheet of watercolor paper to make my tag dies with, but when I turned them over, I discovered I had used a sheet I'd added watercolor to. Happy accident! I decided I liked the look and just went with it. I pulled out ephemera I had made earlier with the Tim Holtz Stamptember kit to embellish my tags.

 

Loving the watercolor look you get with Distress Watercolor Crayons and some glitter.

Each one is unique...

I layered a plant leave and flower on to of the tag after I stamped a word on each one.

Gift tags are ready!

Crafting made easy when you create multiple pieces at once so you can just pull from your stash to create.

Let It Snow!

 

 Hello Monday, my friends! And welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the  USE DIES Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

Our Let It Snow challenge will be a two week challenge, since we all get so busy at this holiday time of year. 

This week the challenge is: LET IT SNOW!

I have not scrapbooked in such a long time, it feels really good to pull out some "vintage" photos of my sons playing in the snow. We have a hill behind our house and open fields at that time, so they used to toboggan and sled on it. It's an exhilarating ride down, and a long haul back up. These two would keep going until they were cold and exhausted.  Ahh, good memories! 

So,,, there are two reasons I am picking up my scrapbooking again. I've spent a few weeks organizing and purging my creative space (lots more work to do!) so I finally have a large enough workspace to do larger projects, and I could finally get to my photos. The second reason is, I spent a weekend with my son's girlfriend helping get her set up to scrapbook a pet album. She inspired me to pick it up again.

Since this is all about snow, I stamped the snowman from Tim Holtz's Stamptember set from this year.

I stamped a few snowflakes in the open spaces with Simon's Making Spirits Bright stamp set from the December card kit.  

Liking the mix of photos, die cuts and blues... 

 That pop of red really stands out...

This week the challenge is: TAG IT!

I'd like to welcome our guest designer of the month - Natasha  of Natasha's Colorful Creations. What a gorgeous project last week, Natasha!

I'm back! I've been away for awhile due to eye surgery in New York City and recovery at my sister's house. I'm finally back home with the guys and getting back to crafting again. I still have to keep things fairly simple for now until my eye heals completely and I can get some glasses. I am so thankful to each person who has helped me on this journey, from my doctors, to family and friends, to all the encouraging comments people have left on my social media pages - Thank You!

OK, now on to the crafting! Yesterday I crafted with friends which was super fun, and made two tags to share today. 

MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS

I'm using the Tim Holtz Bottlebrush stamp set and lots of bright colors. Simon's Pawsitively Saturated inks are such luscious colors.  I also pulled a some papers from my December Simon Says Stamp card kit. 

I stamped the trees on watercolor paper, cut them out, then swiped on some Ink3 Pixie Dust.

For my second tag, I was inspired by the rainbow work of  teamie, Cheiron. She creates so many wonderful makes using the colors of the rainbow.

I picked out a tropical rainbow of colors to use. 

I mounted the watercolor paper on green and blue cardstock and stenciled the blue paper.

I tied on hand dyed ribbons to the tags, and now they are ready to use for the holiday season.

 

While I've been typing this up, the snow is falling...may the magic of the season fill your heart!
