Felt That Flip Frame

Hello Monday, and welcome back!

This week we are all about felt! I made my own felt flowers to add to my project.

We are showcasing products from Simon Says Stamp Spring Plush release, click here to see this new release!

I really love my Tim Holtz Flip Frame and enjoy making new "pages" for it! This week I pulled out my alcohol inks which I haven't used in a very long time, to try them out on the Yupo paper. Wow! Did I have fun...and get really messy!!

The alcohol ink colors I used are: Snow Cap, Sunshine Yellow, Citrus, Sailboat Blue, and Sunset Orange. Honestly, once I got started playing, I couldn't stop, so between losing myself in what I was making and really inky fingers, I did not take many photos!

I created my background on the Yupo paper first, then die cut the flowers and leaves from Simon's plush felt. Next, I laid them down until I got the look I wanted, and that is when I decided to add the yellow butterfly stem. Time to put it all together!

I really like how the yellow flowers add dimension to the project and great contrast between the felt textures and the inks. The Flip Frame adds a touch of elegance, and now I can enjoy my little burst of spring. I could see this as a lovely wedding or anniversary gift too.

Time for you to pull out your felt, and try making something for the challenge! Maybe you'll  create a felt embellishment, or just use one on your project...whatever it is, we want to see it! Join in the fun this week, and you could be the lucky winner of the $50 gift certificate from Simon Says Stamp!
