Monochrome Blues

Hello Monday, my friends! Our newest challenge for you at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is - Monochrome - which means to use shades of one color. It is fun (and challenging) to limit your color palette, and I hope you will enjoy creating a monochrome project to share with us this week.

Hasn't it been wonderful having Terelisa Agosti with us this month? She is so creative and it has been a joy having her as our guest designer. I wish you the very best Terelisa, and look forward to seeing more!

I am thrilled for one of my fellow design team members, Andrea Ockey Parr, who has recently released her amazing stamp sets with Inky Antics!! I love her wonderful images, and she has such a way with words, that just make these stamps a joy to play with. Congratulations Andrea! (Simon Says Stamp carries all of Andrea's sets)

So of course, I had to reach for a set to play with this week! I love to read, as I know Andrea does, and I especially like the saying about villains in the middle part of the story.

Be Brave

I started off in one of my small art journals on a page that looks like sheet music, and stenciled on some fun Irregular Dots.

More dots in another shade of blue...

...and time to add in a new shape with the triangles, and another blue.

Look at all those blues!

Why not add another blue layer, this time with the Twisted stencil?

Maybe I should tone it down a bit with a very pale blue.

Stamping and sprinkling on some dots...

Ooh, wait - Infusions in blue!

Oh yes, I am liking this now!

I stamped my heroine on watercolor paper and colored her in...mostly blues. I decided to break out of the monochrome with just a hint of pink and a bit of yellow.

Watch out for the villains...keep reading to the end of the story! I added a clip to the page and some funky fibers, and I am really liking this!

Are you inspired to create along with us this week in monochrome? I hope so, and am looking forward to your creative makes! Our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp give away a $50 voucher to one lucky participant drawn at random.

  1. Oh, dots and triangles together, what a cool mix of patterns. I should be more brave with my creation cause I would never mix them up and the effect is great! Love the shades of blue and teal and the girl is so sweet! Hugs, Macarena.

  2. Love how your girl is popping right up through the page. The layers of all the blues in the background are really eye catching and yet spotlight your focal point so well. -Elizabeth
