Hello Monday my friends! Welcome back to our Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and this week our theme is FOUR LEGGED FRIENDS. What a fun challenge, right? May is a birthday month around our house, so I created a couple of fun birthday cards featuring the Tim Holtz Snarky Cats to share with you.
PARTY TIME! ...yeah, they look thrilled, don't they? ha ha
Well, this is the only process photo I have...first layers on the cards. I did a bit of smooshing for the first layer with Flamingo Kitsch and Salvaged Patina inks, then added a stenciled layer, using the Salvaged Patina Oxide Spray, and two fun Simon stencils. After this, it was stamping and painting the images, then cutting them out and finding their places on the cards.
I stamped envelopes for the cards, and included a dandelion from Simon's May card kit.
Details from the horizontal card...cats, party hats and balloons. I sketched in the balloon strings with a black pen.
On the vertical card, I added in some label words, as well as a chameleon. Are the cats thrilled the chameleon joined them, or are they after that cute fellow? Again, I stamped the envelope and added a dandelion.
Details...I added a bit of a doodle to the bottom cat to ground them.
I like how the tail goes beyond the card...and it still fits in the envelope!
I hope I've inspired you with my snarky cats birthday cards to join us this week in our Four Legged Friends challenge! Our generous friends at Simon Says Stamp are offering a $25 shopping voucher to one lucky participant drawn at random. Our DT selects favorites each week to showcase too.
A great place to shop!
