SASPC May/June Challenge - It's Mime

Hello Steampunk and Industrial friends, and welcome to our May/June Anything Goes Challenge at Sandee and Amelie's Steampunk Challenges. I'm so glad you stopped by! I am sharing a chipboard book I created in a class with Anna Dabrowska aka Finnabair. It was pretty darn amazing to be in a "live"(online) class with her this spring, and create my book. Many thanks Anna!

I decided to use a chipboard book I've had in my stash for years. This works well on an old book you can alter too. I will be finishing the inside pages at some point.

IT'S MIME (it's mine)

Don't you often wonder if the characters in stories actually live inside their book? Is this Mime trapped inside...or just peering out and watching the world change over the years? He might be asking, what kind of steam powered vehicles are rolling by...is that an airship overhead...what do all these gears on the book do if I start turning them? I think I love to read so much because it lets my imagination soar free.

Here is the back, with lots of texture, and a bit of nature.

Lovely detail of the gears and metallic patina...

Cluster of objects around the Mime...

I had a wonderful time creating this in class, and I hope it inspires you to join us for our May/June challenge! We love to see your wonderful steampunk/industrial makes, so please share them with us.

I've already mentioned how much I love to read, so if you have any suggestions of good books in the steampunk genre, please let me know in the comments!

Many blessings and wishes for creative energy this spring, Maura
